Shared Health Diagnostic Services team provides province‑wide clinical laboratory testing and supports health services integration across Manitoba. The General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist conducts clinical analysis of patient samples, assists with SOPs and chemical inventory projects, and ensures compliance with quality assurance and accreditation standards.

Shared Health Diagnostic Services laboratory team provides patient-centered clinical analysis across Manitoba. The General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist conducts sample testing, assists with SOPs and inventory, and ensures quality compliance.

Under the general supervision of the Charge or designate, the General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for clinical analysis and reporting on patient samples according to established protocols. The General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist is also responsible for assisting in general lab projects such as SOPs, chemical inventories, etc.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Manager Health Services, Diagnostic Imaging or designate, the incumbent: Performs a variety of clerical tasks and acts as a communication link for the unit. Performs a variety of tasks for the care and comfort of patients as well as routine domestic tasks to maintain preparedness and cleanliness of the area.
