The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Equipment Support maintenance equipment; light and heavy vehicles on assigned projects or activities of a public works nature.

Operate medium to large-sized equipment, including backhoe, loader, bulldozer, and track hoe, to install or repair underground utilities and drive/load a dump truck.

The equipment Operator II works as part of a construction crew and reports directly to the Crew Leader.
